A worker was killed today in an industrial accident on the city's northeast side, Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports.
Christian Bove of the San Antonio Fire Department says the victim, a man in his sixties, was working at a facility off Bulverde Road which is owned by Chalk Mountain, a company which services Eagle Ford fracking industry.
He was working alongside a forklift inside the building when a huge bag of sand fell on him.
"It's one of these bags, about 3500 pounds, they are stacked three to four high, and one of these bags ended up falling on the man," Bove said.
The police are investigating the death, which Bove said appears to be an accident.
