Over 100 rescued animals arrived in San Antonio early Thursday morning after being evacuated from Louisiana following the impact of Hurricane Ida.

The San Antonio Humane Society will be taking care of the rescued pets. After the animals are examined by veterinarians, they will hold a Hurricane Ida adoption special, offering a 50% discount on all pet adoption fees until further notice.

Additionally, the shelter is in need of supplies for hurricane pets. Supplies needed include pet food, rubbing alcohol, blankets, beds, paper towels, toys, cat litter, harnesses, big plastic bins (with lids) and enrichment items (paper towel rolls, treats, plastic water bottles). Individuals who would like to send supplies directly to the shelter through Amazon can do so via SAHS’s wish list.
