You may not be able to achieve complete peace immediately but, over time, these practices can help ease your mind and make you more productive, too.

Take stock. Make a list of your top priorities for work and home. Keeping these in mind can help you make choices that support your goals. Do this step regularly to help yourself stay focused on what matters most.

Set goals you can manage. Do you have a long-desired project that never seems to get off the ground? Break it into smaller steps. Then give yourself a realistic amount of time to get each one done. As you check off tasks, enjoy your accomplishment. You'll feel more in control and ready for the next stage.

Just do it: Disconnect. Laptops, tablets and smartphones can make it possible to be plugged in 24/7. And, of course, you want to be available when needed. But, if at all possible, try to unplug for at least some time each day. It's a good way to unwind and refresh.
