Keep your mind sharp for years to come with a few daily habits.
Eat Cocoa Powder
The antioxidants in cocoa powder may help boost your thinking skills. Try mixing 1 Tbsp cocoa powder with skim milk, or sprinkle it into coffee. You can also try a square of dark chocolate, but make sure it has a high cocoa content (look for 70% or higher on the label).
Eat Omega-3 Fatty Acids
These fats help control inflammation, which is often caused by surges of insulin brought on by eating too many refined carbohydrates. Over time, inflammation can lead to cognitive decline. Try fatty fish like salmon, or take a fish oil supplement with 1,500 mg of an omega-3 fatty acid
One study found that eating two or more ½-cup servings a week delayed the onset of Alzheimer's by 2½ years.
