The Rockefeller tree's traditional Swarovski star made its debut in 2004, but this topper, which took two years to complete, has been redesigned for the 2018 lighting ceremony. This new addition measures 9 feet and 4 inches and weighs in at 900 pounds (can you imagine trying to store it for next year?!)
The star has 70 spikes to resemble a bright burst of light. It's also adorned with no less than three million Swarovski crystals!
Currently there is a Swarovski Rockefeller Christmas Tree Topper pop up store at the base of the tree. So if you're traveling to NYC this holiday you can pick one up. I was able to find a link for it on Amazon, but it isn't cheap. $949.00! It does come with free shipping though, so there's that.
