Massive Fire Ravages Rachael Ray's Upstate New York Home

Rachael Ray and her loved ones are alive and safe after escaping the fire that consumed her New York home Sunday night (August 9).

The talk show host’s residence on Chuckwagon Trail in Lake Luzerne was engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading down from the roof. No one was injured in the blaze, according to Warren County Sheriff Jim LaFarr, who was told the property belonged to Ray.

A retired fire official on the scene said Ray was at home when the fire tore through her home but managed to escape with her husband John M. Cusimano and their dog, Bella.

“Hi and thanks for the concern. Rachael, her husband, and their dog Bella are safe. The house is unfortunately damaged and we don’t yet know to what extent,” Ray’s representative Charlie Dougiell said in a statement.

According to CBS17, at least 11 fire departments were called to the scene to battle the blaze, however, only two units could get close enough to fight the fire since Ray’s property is on a steep hill.

Bystanders posted images online showing flames shooting out of Ray’s home as it happened. “Seeing some of the first pictures of the fire at the Lake Luzerne home of @rachaelray and it does not look good,” reported Mark Mulholland tweeted with an image of the inferno. (More images here.)

Per the Daily Mail, Ray had been spending quarantine at home, where she’s been filming remotely amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

At this time, the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
