Drug Cases Overturned Because Of Planted Evidence

Two men jailed on drug charges are being exonerated after it was discovered that the evidence used in their cases was planted. Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales says a confidential informant in San Antonio is to blame. It's unclear why the informant targeted the victims in 2017. The DA says the informant may be charged with a crime. He says the victims may be entitled to compensation for false imprisonment. A third wrongly convicted person died in hospice care a few days before she would have been exonerated.
