Here's today's feel-good story:

According to a new study, those who drank several cups of coffee or tea per day over a 10 to 14 year period had the lowest risk for dementia and stroke.

Tianjin Medical University in China studied over 360,000 people who regularly drank coffee or tea and found that these participants had much lower risks of diseases than those that didn't regularly drink them.

While the participants self-reported the data, the study has its limits which could lead to personal biases as well.

“We cannot impute causality, and say ‘drinking more coffee or tea is good for your brain.’ What we can only say is that in this study, people who reported moderate coffee/tea drinking were less likely to have a stroke or dementia occur in the 10 years of follow-up,” said Dr. Lee H. Schwamm, chair of the American Stroke Association Advisory Committee and chair in Vascular Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
