Sweet potatoes are great sources of potassium, magnesium and calcium to help you relax.

Pistachios pack in protein, vitamin B6 and magnesium, all of which contribute to better sleep.

Dried plums contain vitamin B6, calcium and magnesium, all which help make melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep.

Avoid dehydration by choosing watery fruits like cantaloupe and melons.  Also recommended: apples, oranges and pears.  These will help you sleep.

String cheese provides a satisfying protein, especially if you pair it with whole grain crackers.

Herbal teas are excellent for calming nerves, hydrating and stomach-soothing.
