I passed out once because I was so hot. Crazy! And a little scary. With it just going to get hotter, you need to know what symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke look like because it is an emergency health condition.
- Cool, moist skin with goose bumps when in the heat
- Heavy sweating
- Faintness
- Dizziness
- Fatigue
- Weak, rapid pulse
- Low blood pressure upon standing
- Muscle cramps
- Nausea
- Headache
Other symptoms could include:
- High body temperature. A core body temperature of 104 F (40 C) or higher, obtained with a rectal thermometer, is the main sign of heatstroke
- Altered mental state or behavior
- Not sweating when you should
- Flushed skin
- Rapid breathing
If you show signs of heat stroke, you should immediately move to a shady spot or inside and call 9-1-1.
