As companies start asking employees to come back to work, you'll be spending less time at home which may upset your dog's schedule. So help your dog get used to your being gone again with some tips:
Make sure you have scheduled walks with your dogs, before you leave your house and when you get home. Take them on more walks than that if they need it.
Keep up the amount of exercise your animal needs to burn off energy.
When you do leave the house, don't make a big deal out of it. Leave like you would if there was a sleeping toddler at home -- very quietly.
You could also consider crate training. But dogs should not be in a crate the entire eight or more hours you're gone.
If you can't get home during the day, see if a neighbor or someone you trust can walk your pet.
If your dog starts having destructive behavior when you're gone, check with your vet to see if they're experiencing separation anxiety. There are medications and calming agents that could help in severe cases.
