How to Avoid Clinical Trial Scams

Clinical Trial - Vaccine: Covid-19, Coronavirus in vial with syringe on white background

We're hearing a lot about clinical trials these days. Especially COVID-19 trials. But not all these trials are legit.

The Better Business Bureau says many of these scams start off with an unsolicited message via text, email, or social media with a link to see if you qualify. Do not click on the link! You could end up downloading malware onto your computer or phone, giving scammers access to all of your personal information stored on your device.

How to make sure it's a legitimate clinical trial:

--Research the domain.

--Verify at ClinicalTrials.gov.

--Never pay to be part of a clinical trial.

--Never reveal financial details.
