Easter Tips To Protect Your Pet

There are a lot of things you don't think about at Easter when it comes to your pets. I certainly didn't.

·Eggshells can hurt your pet if ingested, as well as raw eggs due to the threat of E. coli and salmonella.

·The popular foods served on Easter such as ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and barbecued meats can all cause stomach problems for your pet.

·If your dishes are flavored with garlic and onion, these flavorings can also be toxic for your pet.

·When it comes to Easter sweets such as cookies and cake they could cause a pet's blood sugar to drop leading to liver failure and death.

·Any Easter candy containing marshmallows, chocolate or an artificial sweetener called Xylitol are poisonous to pets.

·Never crack a confetti egg on a dog or cat because they could lead to aggressive behavior or you could injure the pet.

·The best thing to do for your pet is to buy them pet-friendly Easter treats to keep them entertained and excited to snack on away from "people food."
