When you think of resting, what comes to mind? An afternoon nap? Spending some quiet time reading a book? Binge-watching a new tv show?
Actually there's so much more to resting than that!
Creative: The type that inspires and motivates you. Head outside because nature evokes wonder and inspiration.
Mental: When you quiet your mind and focus on what’s really important. So you need to meditate.
Physical: The rest that relieves your body of muscle aches and tension and helps improve your sleep. So you need to move but gently to improve circulation. Think yoga, taking a walk.
Social: You spend time on relationships you cherish and with people who enhance your life. Share your feelings with a trusted friend.
Emotional: The ability to express your deepest feelings and be your genuine self. As with Social rest, share your feelings and be real and vulnerable.
Sensory: Gives you a respite from background noise, including negative self-talk and digital devices. Embrace stillness.
Spiritual: You feel that you are part of something bigger, as well as a sense of belonging and fitting in.
Have a nice rest!
