You probably get inundated with emails all day long. So that means, those emails you send out go to people who also get inundated by emails all day long. So how do you make sure yours gets read?

Keep Them Short. Research shows emails with fewer than 50 words get twice as many replies than those with 100 words.

Cap Your Subject Line At Five Words. The only thing people want to read less than your long message is your long subject line.

Monday Mornings Are Best. Hitting up your coworkers after they’ve had the weekend to recharge gives you the best chance of getting a reply. Reply rates drop by a whopping 64% when you send on the weekend.

Don’t Fear The Exclamation Point! Studies have found emails with exclamation points at the end of the first sentence get more responses than those ending with a boring old period.
