The Best Wine Pairings for Your Favorite Valentine's Day Candy

Valentine's Day is coming so you might want to celebrate with a glass of vino with your candy. You aren't the first. Actually sommeliers get asked this often so these are your best pairings according to those sommeliers.

Hershey’s Kisses and Zinfandel - Zinfandel generally serves up big, juicy dark fruit vibes, which plays well with milk chocolate.

Chocolate-Covered Strawberries and Sparkling Rosé - The romantic dessert will bring out the vibrant fruit notes in the bubbly pink wine, and the “bright acidity and bubbles accentuate the strawberry flavors even more and pair with the chocolate just so nicely.”

Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts and Tawny Port - The sweet nutty flavor of the Tawny Port complements the nuttiness so perfectly.

Cinnamon Hearts and Malbec - Malbec is the ideal partner because the tannins can take the heat while a hint of spice in the wine plays nicely with the candy.

Ferrero Rocher and Madeira – The dessert wine goes well because, “many Madeiras are a touch off-dry, meaning barely sweet.”

Sour Gummy Hearts and Riesling - The sweetness of the wine balances out the tartness of the sour candy.
