My parents taught me about money, and budgeting, and credit. My husband? Not so much. And when we first met in our 20s, he had some bad credit.
If your credit isn't stellar, here are some tips to get it back up!
Go slow and steady, and show stability. It doesn’t happen overnight.
Pay your bills on time.
Become an authorized user on someone else's card. It would help you gain a credit history from the credit usage of another person.
Look into a secured credit card. A credit-card company may let you open this type of account because there's no risk to them if you miss a payment.
Apply for a gas or retail store credit card. They can be easier to get and have lower credit limits than standard cards but some come with high interest rates.
