What To Do This Week in San Antonio - week of 2/21/22

New week, new fun! Like National Margarita DayMardi Gras weekend, plus live music, comedy, a drag ball, LEGO Adult Night, and so much more.

Gladys Knight @ The Tobin Center (Wednesday). Seven-time GRAMMY winner and legendary vocalist Gladys Knight will be performing from the Tobin Center stage for one night only.

Purple Disco Machine @ 1902 Nightclub (Thursday). German DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine will be bringing the funk, disco, and house grooves to the newly opened 1902 Nightclub.

Pirates Treasure Hunt Adult Night at LEGOLAND Discovery (Friday). An evening for everyone 18 years of age and older to explore LEGOLAND Discovery Center with the theme: Pirates Treasure Hunt. Includes a building competition, food and drink by Landshark, LEGO prizes, and more.

The Battle of the Paddle @ Will Naylor River Walk Plaza (Saturday). The annual paddling race returns this weekend to the historic downtown river loop area of the San Antonio River Walk. 

San Antonio African American Book Festival @ Carver Library (Saturday). The 3rd annual SAAABF: The Power of Black Literature returns this Saturday morning with Keynote Author: Andrea "Vocab" Sanderson. Free with registration.

Kaffeinated Grand Opening (Saturday). Kaffeinated Crepes and Coffee is officially opening their doors and menu of crepes, waffles, salads, plus drinks like lattes, coffee, teas, milkshakes, and more this weekend. The first 25 people in line will receive a complimentary drink.

Mardi Gras Festival & Parade @ San Antonio River Walk (Saturday). The annual weekend of beads, bling, and fun to celebrate Mardi Gras on the San Antonio River Walk is back starting this Saturday. Jam-packed days include live music & entertainment, a river parade, selfie-boats, and more.

Ron White @ Majestic Theatre (Saturday). Cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman Ron "Tater Salad" White is returning to the Majestic Theatre for his new tour For Mature Audiences. Two shows to choose from: 7pm and 10pm.

Paris Is Burning - A Benefit for The AIDS Foundation @ Brick at Blue Star Arts Complex (Sunday). A celebration of Black History Month and our LGBTQIA+ community featuring a movie screening of the American documentary Paris Is Burning plus a drag ball hosted by Wayne Holtz. All proceeds to benefit The AIDS Foundation of San Antonio.

Piñata Protest @ Paper Tiger (Sunday). Local Tex-Mex/punk band Piñata Protest is headling the Paper Tiger main stage this Sunday with local Chicana punk rockers Fea, plus special guests Ratas En Zelo and Monstruo Bohemio.

Black Restaurant Week San Antonio 2022. The tastiest week in San Antonio is back with some amazing Black-owned restaurants, food trucks, and culinary businesses. $1 from every BRWSA special sold will go to to the San Antonio Food Bank.
