It's Your Last Day to #Fiesta2019 Here's What's Happening

FIESTA RUN TO REMEMBER | COMANCHE PARK | 8 AM

Join the Alzheimer’s Association for the Seventh Annual Run to Remember taking place at Comanche Park. The Run to Remember is a chipped-time 5K/10K run that brings together family, friends, caregivers and community members to end this disease. The run promotes the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for your mind and body, while bringing awareness to Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Wear your brightest Fiesta colors and join us as we fight Alzheimer’s and stick around for a post party celebration including awards ceremony with food and drink. Admission for spectators is free. 

FIESTA® WILDFLOWER RIDE | ROLLING OAKS MALL | 8 AM – 4 PM

Morgan’s Wonderland has established a special place where smiles and laughter lead to wonderful memories with family members, friends and caregivers. We provide a safe, clean and beautiful environment free of physical and economic barriers that all individuals – regardless of age, special need or disability – can come and enjoy.

Join us on April 28th, 2019 for Fiesta San Antonio’s only cycling event. Participants and spectators alike can anticipate a memorable, fun-filled day! In 2018 approximately 2000 athletes participated from Texas and beyond. Both young and the young at heart joined in this fitness experience as they cycled through our scenic hill country. Route distances available for weekend warriors, as well as seasoned athletes. Aid stations, SAG wagons, bicycle mechanics and local police are involved to ensure a safe event. Limited edition event medals and tee shirts are provided for all preregistered participants. We look forward to sharing the day with you and getting fit at San Antonio’s famous Fiesta.

Registration is $35 – $70; minors under 15 must also have a parent riding.

FIESTA® WOMEN’S & CO-ED SOCCER TOURNAMENT • STAR SOCCER COMPLEX | 8 AM – 8 PM

The Women’s Soccer Association of San Antonio is proud to announce its 41st annual Fiesta Women’s and Co-Ed Soccer Tournament. Women and co-ed teams from Texas and other states compete at all levels. Food, beverages and t-shirts are for sale.

The Women’s Soccer Association consists of several divisions: Competitive, Recreation, Under 23, Over 30 and Co-ed. League games are played year-round. Fall and spring games are played Sundays, summer games during the week and Sundays and co-ed games Sunday afternoons. You may register year-round.

Admission is free for spectators; there is a registration fee for participating teams.

FESTIVAL DE ANIMALES | SAN ANTONIO ZOO | 10 AM – 5 PM

We’re celebrating the animals, culture, and food of Latin America! Take a tour of South America during this day-time event. Started in 2016, Festival de Animales highlights the Zoo’s conservation efforts in Latin America and educates guests on the animals native to Latin American that call the San Antonio Zoo home. Amazing up-close animal interactions, culinary delights, entertainment, and authentic merchandise from Latin America are sure to delight while guests immerse themselves in South American culture. A visit to Festival de Animales will help further the zoo’s vision to secure a future for wildlife through loving, engaging with, acting for, and protecting animals and the places they live.

FIESTA® DE LOS REYES AT MARKET SQUARE | 4PM-MIDNIGHT

Combine Rey Feo–a cherished Fiesta icon, with Market Square–a historic center in the heart of the city, and San Antonio gets 10 days of free, quality entertainment! This is one of the largest FREE Fiesta celebrations and has something in store for the entire family! Experience daily live entertainment from multiple stages featuring a variety of music, from the best in Tejano. Cumbia, and Conjunto to rocking cover bands! Enjoy Fiesta staples such as funnel cakes, agua fresca, turkey legs, fajitas and much, much more. Your taste buds will have a Fiesta as you enjoy food from over 30 delicious food booths.

FIESTA® NUEVA | 9:30 AM MARIACHI SERVICE | SAINT JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH | 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM

End your Fiesta fun at St. John’s Fiesta Nueva with a celebration for the entire family. Join us for the Mariachi Service beginning at 9:30 am. Follow the Mariachi Group out onto the church grounds to enjoy an afternoon filled with games and rides for children, food trucks, featuring Caliente Grill, B Daddy’s BBQ and North Shore Shave Ice/Tiki Hut. Drink booths and musical entertainment will be provided by Dirty River Dixie Band, San Antonio Music Academy’s Elite Group, St. John’s Holy Rollers and more. Silent Auction and raffle feature an array of great prizes. King Gallo XVI will be crowned. There is limited parking so come early.

SAN JOSE MISSIONFEST | 10:30 AM – 11 PM

Celebrating 17 years as an Official Fiesta Event! MissionFest has been a Southside tradition for generations and represents a variety of activities that attract numerous families and visitors year after year. An estimated 10,000 people will be in attendance.

Outdoor Mariachi Mass begins at 9:00am.  Join us at this unique family event and enjoy your favorite –great food, family entertainment, with live music throughout the day. Children’s corner, Carnival, Church raffle, Treasure Trinkets, Bingo and plenty of FUN!

General Admission of $5.00 begins at 2pm.   12 and under FREE

FREE PARKING. NO outside containers allowed. Bring your own lawn-chair.

BLAST FROM FIESTA PAST | WITTE MUSEUM | 10AM – 5PM

It was the spring of 1969 and San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration captured the spirit of the day. Fiesta gowns from the Order of the Alamo’s Court of Time and Space will have you reaching for the stars with designs inspired by the science and technology that helped the United States put a man on the moon in July of that year. Visitors are invited to separate science fact from science fiction with fiesta gowns and costumes inspired by comic books, film and art. From the Queen of Soul to El Rey Feo, 1969 was also a time when Fiesta royal traditions began to evolve to reflect the atmosphere of the civil rights movement and embrace the beauty and diversity of San Antonio. Learn how Fiesta royalty in 1969 helped pave the way for fiesta royalty today.

ALL VETERANS MEMORIAL SERVICE | VETERANS PLAZA | 1 PM

Alamo Chapter 366, Vietnam Veterans of America, holds its annual ceremony dedicated to all veterans of America. This solemn program is a salute to the dedication and sacrifices of the brave men and women who have served and those who are serving in the U.S. military to protect American freedom. Veterans and their spouses and survivors, veterans groups and the general public are invited to attend and participate. Participants are encouraged to bring a floral tribute to be placed at the Monument for the Battle of Hill 881 South, a prominent part of Auditorium Circle. Admission is free.

Celebrate the final day of Fiesta® San Antonio with Texas A&M University–San Antonio’s FESTIVAL DE CASCARONES! Now in its eighth year, the culmination of the city’s most vibrant celebrations of culture will take place at one of the fastest-growing universities in the state. This is a free event and we invite you to visit our beautiful campus for a day of fun and excitement with live music and family-friendly activities. It will truly be a spectacle as the University continues the annual Cascarones smash! Admission is Free

FIESTA® POPS | THE TOBIN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS | 2 PM

Our annual Fiesta Pops concert features the music, dance and culture of Mexico and Latin America through the local talents of San Antonio. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of Campanas de America and a colorful corp of dancers with the Guadalupe Dance Company. This program is sure to get you in the Fiesta spirit!

11TH ANNUAL FIESTA® CONCERT | ST. MARGARET MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH | 3 – 4:30 PM

The San Antonio Symphonic Band will present a community celebration of Fiesta by performing both traditional and new concert band music. The performance will include musical arrangements which celebrate the rich cultural past of the city of San Antonio and surrounding area, tributes to our military, as well as fun musical arrangements of movie and showtunes. The band strives to present music that people of all background can enjoy. This concert is a unique opportunity to celebrate Fiesta in the concert band tradition! Admission is free.

A DAY IN OLD MEXICO & CHARREADA | RANCHO DEL CHARRO | 3 PM

Explore the distinctive culture which upholds deep-rooted customs, tradition and family as a way of life. This family event features food, drink, pony rides for the kids, Ballet Folklorico performances and live Mariachi music. Admission: Adult $20, Senior Citizen and Military $15, Children (6-12 years) $5

CHILI QUEENS CHILI COOK-OFF |THE BONHAM EXCHANGE | 3 - 8 PM

May the best chili win! In this unconventional interpretation of a historical event, competitors from all over to put their chili recipes to the test. Judging the chili is only the first part of this wonderful event. Each chili must be represented by a queen. Being glamorous won’t win you this competition! We are looking for a queen who redefines the “tacky”! The man or woman who can get the crowd to say “wow that’s tacky!” will be given the one-and-only Whoochie award. Come enjoy refreshing cocktails and the intoxicating energy of the historic Bonham Exchange dance floor at this one-of-a-kind event! Admission is FREE. 18+ Only! Proceeds go to charities that benefit the community!

PRAISE DANCE CELEBRATION |CARVER COMMUNITY CULTURAL CENTER | 4 – 6 PM

The Praise Dance Celebration adds a touch of spiritual zest to Fiesta®. This event presents an opportunity for all to experience the creative expressions of God’s word through Praise Dance. Each performance integrates modern dance, ballet, and African dance movements, all guided by angelic and spiritual dance techniques. This celebration of dance shares the African American heritage of praise and worship through dance with the San Antonio Community. It is the vision of Alpha Tau Omega Chapter to promote events that will enhance the cultural and artistic experiences within the community. Admission is free.

LA REINA DE LA FERIA DE LAS FLORES RECEPTION | TBD | 4 – 7 PM

Celebrate La Reina de la Feria de las Flores 2018 on her last official day of Fiesta. LULAC Council No. 2 will publicly recognize and honor the 2018 Queen and all those who made her reign possible. This title is bestowed on the candidate who raises the most money for the Tom Morton Sandoval Parent/Child Scholarship Program of LULAC Council No. 2. The program seeks to ensure the educational success of two generations by encouraging their educational objective at any Alamo College. MUSIC FROM ST. MARK’S | ST. MARK’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH | 5 – 6 PM

Celebrate the 27th anniversary season of Music from St. Mark’s. Enjoy an afternoon of superb music in this historic treasure of downtown San Antonio. Featuring music from the English Cathedral Tradition. This year’s concert will include John Rutter’s Gloria and Flor Peter’s Toccata Festival. Admission is free.

FIESTA CARNIVAL | ALAMODOME | 11AM-11PM

Thrills and chills fill the air at one of the best carnivals in the land. Glittering lights, exciting rides and a wide assortment of foods in the heart of San Antonio make the Carnival a perennial favorite of Fiesta®-goers. Revenue from this event helps support the activities of Fiesta® San Antonio
