Science: Dancing Makes You Happier

In our house, we do a lot of "dance parties." Actually I just taught my twins the Will & Carlton dance from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. You know what I'm talking about:

Well, it turns out that dancing has been proven to make you happy! It releases your DOSE: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins. These hormones are commonly linked with happiness and well-being.

And dancing provides a bigger release of endorphins than exercise. And it connects with the emotional centers in your brain so it can provide an emotional release . It's cathartic!

So, instead of going for a run, turn up the radio, grab a dance partner (or dance solo), and start feeling better!
