Special Olympics Texas Returns This Weekend To San Antonio

Special Olympics Texas, the sporting event for people with intellectual disabilities, will make its return at the inclusive Morgan's Wonderland starting Thursday, May 12, through May 16. The Special Olympics will kick off festivities on Friday, May 13, with the opening ceremonies at Toyota Field starting at 6 p.m. The opening ceremonies will include a parade of athletes, special-guest appearances, the lighting of the Flame of Hope, and fireworks. 

The Special Olympics will offer competition in athletics/track and field, cycling, gymnastics, soccer, and tennis. Sporting events will kick off on Friday at 8 a.m. across various venues, including Heroes Stadium, STAR Soccer Complex, Tree of Life Church, and Morgan's Wonderland, which opened its sports complex last summer.
