As the Texas Gulf Coast is in full recovery mode from Hurricane Harvey, many locals are collecting donations and volunteering in a big way - like Texans do. There are so many touching stories floating around in the aftermath, demonstrating there is positive even given the destruction.
We wanted to share one of those stories -
A call came in last week to the newsroom at 1200 WOAI from a mother asking if we would support her daughter's Harvey Relief Project and we jumped at the chance.
We invited 8-year-old Livi up to the station to tell her story and why she created Livi's Happy Hearts kits. Watch the video as Livi tells her story how she wants to help children impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
NOW, help us help Livi. You can drop off donations at our studios at 6222 IH 10, San Antonio, TX 78201 and we will get them to Livi or you can donate on her GoFund Me account here
Once the kits are assembled, Livi will be dropping off the kits to the San Antonio Food Bank who has generously agreed to transport and deliver the kits on distribution runs to South Texas
