I have to admit that my heart was in my stomach. Christina's geode cake was really beautiful, but Nacho decided to go with a buttercream frosting instead of fondant. I knew it would either make or break him, but the judges were impressed with his geode (looked better than the other contestants'), the fact that he did do a buttercream, and that he even put a geode topper on the cake. Plus, it tasted INCREDIBLE!
We were very excited in our house. The twins kept saying "Nacho! Nacho!" during the show. And when the show went to commercials, my daughter got all upset because she didn't know where Nacho went. (It was super cute)
It could not have happened to a better person. Nacho is a friend of the iHeartFamily and he is as nice in person as he is on the Food Network. He's humble, kind, and just loves his family.
