Jook

Jook is the Cantonese word for congee/rice porridge/rice gruel.  Obviously it tastes better than that sounds.  I mean, 'gruel?'  Eww.

Jook is prepared by boiling cooked rice in a lot of water for a long time until it starts to disintegrate. Other ingredients may be added if you like.  It's actually a breakfast staple and excellent when you're sick.
