Murphy, Sam and Jodi believe just talking about something will show up in those unwanted pop-up ads, but I don't. Now, ads that mimic your search history unfortunately DO happen. A lot. Now I don't mind targeted advertising. I've found some stuff that way. But sometimes it feels intrusive and a little too close for comfort.
There are ways to fix that!
*Try an ad blocker. Popular ones are Ad Blocker Plus and uBlock Origin.
*Use the private browsing mode on your computer. It isn't fool-proof but it will cut down on the ads you see. It works by deleting your browsing history when you shut your computer down.
*Use browsers that have built-in ways to stop targeted ads, like Firefox and Brave.
*You can also reset your advertising identifier on your smartphone and opt out of personalized ad tracking using the operating system. Try THIS
