Despite splitting up three years ago, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still working on their divorce settlement. Between figuring out what to do with their shared castle on the French Riviera and Jolie's reported resentment towards her ex, it seems like this breakup keeps getting messier and messier. One major point of contention in their ongoing divorce is Jolie's desire to move abroad with her kids while Pitt wants them to put down roots in America.
“Angelina still has a lot of resentment toward Brad,” a source told Us Weekly. “She wants him to be held accountable because she feels he turned her and the children’s lives upside down.” According to multiple sources, Pitt is desperate to move on from his former relationship, however, Jolie is struggling to do that because she can't move abroad with the kids. "I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18," Jolie recently told Harper's Bazaar. "Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live."
“Before the divorce, the entire family led a very nomadic existence, and that was because of Angie’s restlessness,” a second source explained to Us Weekly. Even when they were still together, however, their differing opinions about where they should live led to a lot of fights. “Brad wanted the kids to have stability while Angie always said they were giving the children an idyllic childhood by exposing them to different countries, languages and experiences.”
Jolie also reportedly felt Pitt "pressured her" into marriage after 10 years and 6 children together. The actress reportedly tries to limit the amount of time Pitt gets to spend with their kids. The source says Jolie is "using her kids as a weapon against her ex" and, as a result, "Brad's lost count of all the times they haven't been available to see him on special occasions."
Jolie, understandably, is still upset about her split, as well as by the fact she "doesn't get what she wants" in the divorce settlement. Despite whatever disagreements she has with Pitt, though, Jolie is trying to focus on "her kids, her job and cleaning up her messy divorce."
