Will Lady Gaga stay Lady Gaga forever? If she has anything to say about it — yes.

The "Disease" singer sat down for a new cover story with Elle, published Tuesday (January 28), where she spoke about the personal significance of her famous stage name, which reportedly came from an ex-boyfriend who said her style and voice resembled Queen's "Radio Ga Ga," per People.

During the conversation, the Joker: Folie À Deux star was asked whether she would leave behind her notorious moniker or trade it for her real name, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, and she was quick to answer. And it's good news for all Little Monsters.

"No! I love being Lady Gaga. I love being me," she said. "I became a star when I was 20. Everything gets reflected back to you that this persona is what makes you special."

Elsewhere in the interview, Gaga shared details about her upcoming long-awaited album Mayhem — comparing the album to another fan-favorite project — such as the role her fiancé Michael Polansky played in creating the record. Her husband-to-be also gave some insight into their romance, including explaining what the "hardest part" is of being in a relationship with someone so famous.

Mayhem, Gaga's first album since 2020's Chromatica, drops March 7.
