Express ER to Forgive $3.5 Million

Dr. Dan Akers, General Manager of Express ER, has announced the immediate emergency forgiveness of more than $3.5 million in patient debt. This decision follows the announcement by the World Health Organization declaring COVID-19 a worldwide pandemic.

“With unemployment skyrocketing, I think it’s the compassionate thing to do for the communities we serve,” said Dr. Akers. “I don’t want to add more stress to people’s lives.”

The debt relief program will go into immediate effect for all patients seen on or before December 31st, 2019. There is no application or petition process required. “It is our hope that this gesture will alleviate pressure related to healthcare costs that our patients may be facing,” reiterated Dr. Akers.
