5 Ways to Support Black Lives Matter

Maybe you don't want to protest because of the coronavirus. Maybe you can't because you have young kids at home that need to be taken care of. There are other ways to help. And things that you can do anytime, not just today or this week.

⁰ Sign petitions. Several petitions are available in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Here are nine you can sign now.

⁰ If you can, donate. There are several donation pages that you can donate to. Click here to see a list The Huffington Post compiled. There is also a local donation page that was created to support the downtown businesses that were affected by the vandalism that occurred over the weekend. Click here to learn more.

⁰ Support local black-owned restaurants. Whether it's curbside or delivery, order meals from black-owned restaurants in the Alamo City. San Antonio Magazine created a list of the businesses. Click here for the article.

⁰ Write letters to government officials. To find your local and state government officials, click here.

⁰ Encourage people online to sign up to vote. In Texas, you must be registered to vote. June 15 is the last day to register to vote for the July 14, 2020 primary runoff election. You can find the application here.
