Miley Cyrus and Maxx Morando are engaged, and while true love is the reason for their pending nuptials, there's another important reason for their union, and it is extremely relatable.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 33-year-old pop star revealed that her intense dislike of paper played a part in her decision to say "yes." She joked that she makes Morando open all her Amazon packages outside due to her phobia of paper, especially when touched by dry hands.
Explaining that she "hates paper" and even looking at paper on Kimmel's wanted to make her "vomit," she explained that Amazing on packages are the "worst" due to the cardboard box's dry nature. "Someone gets an Amazon box, I'm sick. Because the cardboard is the worst of it," Miley shared. Cyrus continued, "It's extra dry and there's packaging within it. So I go outside, that's the best part, that's really why I got engaged is because I just make my fiance open all the packages outside."
Cyrus, who confirmed her engagement on Tuesday (December 2), debuted a $150,000 ring at a red carpet event. The couple has managed to keep most details of their relationship private, which Cyrus finds astounding. She credits her age and experience for being more protective of her personal life.
Cyrus and Morando, who began dating in 2021, have enjoyed keeping their relationship low-key. The singer, who finalized her divorce from Liam Hemsworth in 2020, appreciates the fresh start with Morando. She expressed pride in their ability to maintain privacy and make choices about what to share publicly.
The engagement comes after the couple attended the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash, where Cyrus wore her engagement ring. The bespoke ring, designed by Jacquie Aiche, features a cushion-cut stone on a chunky, 14-karat yellow gold band and is valued at up to $450,000.
